Your Windows hosting plan includes email at your own domain. You create mailboxes in the Mail tab of your service page and read them in your mail app or in webmail.
Step 1: Check your mail domain
Open Mail. The Mail domains panel lists your domains.
If a domain shows Waiting For DNS, its mail starts when the domain points to the server. Point the domain's A record to the Server IP address shown on Overview; see point a domain to your server. Mail then switches on by itself, with DKIM signing.
Step 2: Create a mailbox
- Under Mailboxes, choose the domain and select New Mailbox.
- Enter the Name before @, such as
info, and a Password. - Check Size (MB) and select Create Mailbox.
Verify: the address appears in the list.
Step 3: Add it to your mail app
Open the Mail client settings panel in the same tab and copy the values into your mail app:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming mail | Incoming (IMAP) from the panel, port 993 with SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing mail | Outgoing (SMTP) from the panel, port 465 with SSL/TLS or port 587 with STARTTLS |
| User name | The full mail address |
| Password | The mailbox password |
Verify: send a message from this mailbox to itself and read it in your mail app.
Use webmail
To read and send mail in your browser, select Open Webmail in Mail and sign in with the full address and the mailbox password. Webmail runs at https://webmail.example.com/, with your own domain; see webmail on Windows hosting.
Sending limits
Every plan sends to at most 10 recipients a minute, 100 per 30 minutes, 150 an hour and 500 a day, and one message can have at most 10 recipients. During the first 7 days of a new service, each of these is half. The limits cannot be raised; for newsletters and other bulk mail, use a mailing service.
Your website's scripts send with PHP mail(), without a password, and that mail counts toward the same limits. Scripts cannot connect to outside mail servers.
Troubleshooting
The mail app cannot sign in. The user name must be the full address, not only the part before @.
The domain stays on Waiting For DNS. Check its A record. Changes can take a while to reach the whole internet.
Next steps
- Keep your mail out of spam folders: email deliverability.
- Copies of your mail: back up and restore on Windows hosting.
