Your Windows hosting plan includes email at your own domain. You create mailboxes in the Mail tab of your service page and read them in your mail app or in webmail.
Step 1: Check your mail domain
Open Mail. The Mail domains panel lists your domains.
If a domain shows Waiting For DNS, its mail starts when the domain points to the server. Point the domain's A record to the Server IP address shown on Overview; see point a domain to your server. Mail then switches on by itself, with DKIM signing.
Step 2: Create a mailbox
- Under Mailboxes, choose the domain and select New Mailbox.
- Enter the Name before @, such as
info, and a Password. - Check Size (MB) and select Create Mailbox.
Verify: the address appears in the list.
Step 3: Add it to your mail app
Open the Mail client settings panel in the same tab and copy the values into your mail app:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming mail | Incoming (IMAP) from the panel, port 993 with SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing mail | Outgoing (SMTP) from the panel, port 465 with SSL/TLS or port 587 with STARTTLS |
| User name | The full mail address |
| Password | The mailbox password |
Verify: send a message from this mailbox to itself and read it in your mail app.
Use webmail
You can also read and send mail in your browser, without a mail app:
- In Mail, select Open Webmail.
- Sign in with the full E-mail Address and the mailbox password.
Your folders are Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Archive, Junk and Trash.
- Reading: HTML mail is cleaned before you see it, and images from other sites stay blocked until you select Show Images.
- Sending: you can attach files, within the 50 MB limit, and a copy goes to Sent.
- Tidying up: you can flag several messages at once, and Delete moves a message to Trash.
- Leaving: on a shared computer, select Sign Out when you finish.
Verify: the message you sent in step 3 is in your Inbox.
Troubleshooting
The mail app cannot sign in. The user name must be the full address, not only the part before @.
The domain stays on Waiting For DNS. Check its A record. Changes can take a while to reach the whole internet.
Next steps
- Keep your mail out of spam folders: email deliverability.
- Copies of your mail: back up and restore on Windows hosting.
