Short answers about where HyperDC services run and how to choose a location. HyperDC servers run in 24 data center locations; the data centers page lists them with the services available in each. For the method of choosing, see choose a data center location.

Locations and products

Where can my VPS or VDS run?

  • Linux and Windows VPS and VDS: Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Istanbul or Singapore.
  • macOS VPS and VDS: Dallas, Los Angeles, Amsterdam or Frankfurt.

You choose the location in the order form.

Where are dedicated servers available?

In the United States, Canada, Germany (Frankfurt), Turkey (Istanbul) and South Korea. The dedicated servers page shows the configurations of each country.

Does every location offer every product?

No. Each product line has its own locations, and not every server model is offered everywhere. The order form shows what is available for each plan.

Choosing and testing

Which location is best for me?

Usually the one closest to most of your users, measured from their networks. Also consider where your data may be stored and whether you need a CDN. See choose a data center location.

How can I test latency before I order?

The order form shows an estimated latency from your location to each data center. Location cards on the data centers page show a test IP or a looking glass where one is available; ping it from your users' regions. If the location you want has neither, ask us.

Network features by location

Is IPv6 available?

Dedicated servers in the United States and South Korea include a /64 IPv6 block. For other products and locations, ask us before you order. See IPv6 setup.

Is DDoS protection the same everywhere?

No. Protection depends on the product and location and is listed on each plan card. See DDoS protection and DDoS protection basics.

Facilities

Which companies operate the data centers, and which certifications do they hold?

Ask us for the location you are interested in. We can tell you the details that matter for your project, such as compliance requirements.

Can I visit or ship hardware to a data center?

For co-location, we confirm the facility, delivery details and installation date after you order; see co-location. For other services the hardware is provided by us, and you manage your service remotely; contact us if your project has special requirements.

Moving

Can I move a service to another location?

Yes. Moving means a new server in the new location and a migration of your data: order the new service, copy and test, switch DNS, then cancel the old one. See move a website without downtime. Contact us if you want help planning the move.

Will my IP address stay the same?

No. IP addresses belong to a location, so a server in another location gets new addresses. Lower your DNS TTLs before the move.
