Nightingale server hosting for your realms
Keep your Nightingale realms open after you log off. The official dedicated server takes up to six Realmwalkers, can import your character and realms, and copies its data to a backup folder on the first start of each day.

Nightingale plans are being prepared
Tell us your group size and whether you bring a character with realms, and our team will reply with the options. Or open a ticket and we will let you know when the plans are online.
How much RAM does a Nightingale server need?
Nightingale supports six players per realm, so the realms you visit decide the load more than the player count.

Realms, access and server tools
What the official dedicated server gives your group.
Bring your realms
The first player to join a new server brings their character and their realms with them. Create a new character first if you want an empty start.
Password
The server starts without a password. Set Password in ServerSettings.ini so only your group can join.
Admin password
With AdminPassword set, players who enter it in game can kick and ban others.
Cheats mode
Start with -EnableCheats to open the debug menu and commands to players who authenticate with the admin password.
Automatic backups
The first start on each weekday copies the Offline folder to OfflineBackup. For your own copies, save Saved/Offline, Saved/Config and Config.
Status endpoint
With -statusPort the server answers on /status with its state, player count and player names.

Learn moreFrequently asked questions
Does Nightingale have dedicated servers?
Yes. Since the July 2025 update, Inflexion offers the Nightingale Dedicated Server as a Steam tool for Windows and Linux. It installs with an anonymous SteamCMD login.
How many players can join?
Nightingale supports up to six players in a realm. The limit can be raised with a command-line option, but Inflexion warns that more than six is unsupported and may cause unintended behaviour.
Which port does the server use?
UDP 7777 by default. Change it with -port= and a number from 1024 to 65535; without the equals sign the setting is ignored.
How do players join a dedicated server?
From Play, they choose their character and Join a Game, then enter the server address and port in the IP/LAN fields.
Can I bring my character and realms?
Yes. Every player brings their character, with inventory and appearance. On a new server, the first player to connect also brings their realms, which moves a whole game from online play to the server. To avoid that, join first with a new character.
How do I set a password and admins?
Copy ExampleServerSettings.ini to ServerSettings.ini in NWX/Config and set Password and AdminPassword in the [/Script/NWX.NWXServerSettings] section. Players with the admin password can kick and ban others.
Can I use cheats on the server?
Yes. Start the server with -EnableCheats; players then authenticate with the admin password to use the debug menu and commands.
Where is the world saved and how do I back it up?
Realms are in NWX/Saved/Offline/DedicatedServer/Deploy and characters in NWX/Saved/Offline under each player’s Steam or Epic ID. Copy NWX/Saved/Offline, NWX/Saved/Config and NWX/Config for a full backup. The server also copies the Offline folder to OfflineBackup on the first start of each weekday.
How do I start over?
Stop the server and remove NWX/Saved/Offline and NWX/Saved/Config. The next start begins with an empty server.
Can I check the server status from outside?
Yes. Start it with -statusPort and a port; the /status address then returns loading or ready, the player count and the player names as JSON.
