What a co-op server needs

A co-op server replaces the friend who hosts: it should be online whenever someone wants to play, with the same world for everyone.

Online without a host

A dedicated server runs the world on its own, so friends can join at any time without the host’s PC staying on.

Small groups, exact limits

Co-op games often allow a fixed number of players, for example up to 10 in Valheim or up to 32 in Palworld. Check the limit before you plan a bigger group.

Memory per world

Some co-op worlds are light and others are not: Terraria runs in 1–6 GB, while Palworld’s size table starts at 16 GB. Use the size table of your game.

Move your world over

Most co-op games keep the world in a save file you can upload, so your group continues where it stopped.

Password or invite code

Protect the server with a password or the game’s invite code, so only your friends can join.

Crossplay where it exists

Valheim and Palworld let players on other platforms join when crossplay is set up. The game pages list who can join.

Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Send us a message and our team will reply by email.
Why rent a co-op server instead of hosting in the game?

When one player hosts, the world is only online while that player is. A dedicated server keeps it online for everyone, does not use the host’s PC or home connection and keeps the save in one place.

How do I move our world from the host’s PC?

Copy the world or save folder from the host’s computer and upload it to the server. Each game page explains where the save is stored.

How many friends can join a co-op server?

It depends on the game: Valheim allows up to 10 players, Core Keeper up to 8 and Palworld up to 32. Each game page lists its limit.

Can friends on consoles join a co-op server?

Some games allow it. Valheim and Palworld let console players join PC dedicated servers when crossplay is set up; Terraria and Core Keeper servers are for PC players. See each game page.

How much RAM does a co-op server need?

Small co-op worlds run with a few gigabytes, for example Terraria with 1–6 GB, while Palworld needs 16–32 GB. The size table on each game page shows the details.

Which location should we choose for a co-op server?

The one closest to most of your friends. Game servers run in 20 locations; if you live in different countries, pick the one in the middle.
