With reseller hosting you sell web hosting under your own name. Your plan comes with a reseller panel, such as WHM (with cPanel for each client) or Plesk; which one depends on the server and location, and the package and your service details show it. You create products there, open an account for each client and manage them, while we run the servers.

Before you start

  • Your reseller service is active. Open the reseller panel from Services › My Services, the reseller service, then the sign-in button; see log in to your control panel.
  • Decide what you will sell: for example a small, medium and large package with their disk space, bandwidth, domains, mailboxes and databases.

Step 1: Create your packages

WHM (cPanel)

  1. In WHM, open Packages › Add a Package.
  2. Enter the Package Name. It cannot be changed later, so pick a lasting name.
  3. Set the limits, such as Disk Space Quota (MB), Monthly Bandwidth Limit (MB), Max Email Accounts, Max SQL Databases, Max Sub Domains and Max Addon Domains.
  4. Choose the Feature List that decides which cPanel features the client sees.
  5. Click Add.

Plesk

  1. In Plesk, open Service Plans and add a plan.
  2. Set the resources (such as disk space, traffic, websites, mailboxes and databases) and the permissions for the plan.
  3. Save the plan. On Windows reseller hosting, also share out your Microsoft SQL Server databases between your plans.

Verify: the package or plan appears in the list.

Step 2: Create an account for a client

WHM (cPanel)

  1. Open Account Functions › Create a New Account.
  2. Enter the client's Domain, a Username (lowercase letters and numbers, up to 16 characters), a strong Password and the client's Email.
  3. Under Choose a Package, select the package you created.
  4. Click Create.

Plesk

  1. Open Customers and click Add a Customer.
  2. Enter the client's contact details, a login and password, and the domain.
  3. Select the service plan and confirm. Plesk creates the customer and their subscription.

Verify: the account appears in List Accounts (WHM) or Customers (Plesk).

Step 3: Send the client their login

Send the client their user name, password and the address of their panel. On cPanel, clients sign in on the server's host name with port 2083 (for example https://server.example.net:2083), the same server you use for WHM on port 2087. Ask the client to point their domain to the server; see point a domain to your server. Once it points, the free certificate secures the site; see turn on free SSL and force HTTPS.

Step 4: Suspend, unsuspend or remove an account

  • WHM: open Account Functions › Manage Account Suspension, select the account, enter a reason and click Suspend. Visitors then see an "Account Suspended" page. Unsuspend reverses it. Terminate Accounts removes the account and its data for good.
  • Plesk: open Customers, select the customer and suspend or activate them; removing a customer deletes their subscriptions.

Troubleshooting

WHM does not let you create another account. You have reached the account or resource limit of your reseller plan. Remove accounts you no longer need, or move to a larger reseller plan.

WHM asks for a package and will not accept manual limits. Your reseller account creates accounts from packages. Create a package with the limits you want, then use it.

The client's domain is refused because it already exists. The domain is already hosted on the server, possibly in an older account. Check your own accounts first; if it is not yours, open a ticket.

Frequently asked questions

Do my clients see HyperDC?

No. Your clients buy from you, pay you and contact you. You name the packages, set the prices and send your own invoices; we run the servers in the background.

How many accounts can I create?

Your plan sets the number of domains and the disk space you share out. Within those limits you decide how many accounts you create and how large each one is.

Who supports my clients?

You are their first point of contact. We support you: open a ticket whenever you need help with the servers, your reseller panel or an account you manage.

Can I change a client's package later?

Yes. In WHM, change the account's package; in Plesk, change the subscription's service plan. The client keeps their files, email and databases.
