KVM virtual servers

Your own Linux server, without the hardware

A Linux VPS is a virtual machine with its own share of processor, memory and SSD storage. It runs on KVM, so your server boots its own Linux kernel and behaves like a physical machine: you choose the distribution, the software and the firewall rules.

That makes a VPS the natural next step after shared hosting, and a lean, low-cost base for apps, APIs and development environments.

  • vCPU, RAM and SSD storage for your server
  • Root access with SSH keys
  • Install Docker, Node.js, Python, PHP or Go
  • Unlimited bandwidth on every plan
  • Upgrade to a bigger plan as you grow
Linux VPS features

Everything you need to build on Linux

Root access and SSH

Log in as root over SSH, switch to key-based logins and manage the server with the tools you already use.

Clean distribution or panel image

Start from a clean distribution, or from an image with HestiaCP, CyberPanel, aaPanel, Plesk or cPanel ready to finish setting up.

Free and paid control panels

HestiaCP, CyberPanel and aaPanel cost nothing extra. cPanel, cPanel with CloudLinux and Plesk are paid options in the order form.

Extra disk space

Need room for data, logs or backups? Add disk space in the order form without moving to a bigger plan.

Locations on three continents

Choose a data center in the United States, Europe or Asia. The order form estimates the latency from where you are to each location, so you can pick the closest one.

Room to grow

Move to a bigger Linux VPS, or to a Linux VDS with NVMe storage and nested virtualization, when your project needs more power or its own virtual machines.

See Linux VDS

Dedicated IPv4 address

Every plan includes a dedicated IPv4 address for your domains, SSL certificates and firewall allow lists.

Unlimited bandwidth

Every plan lists unlimited bandwidth, so there is no traffic tier to choose when you order.

Backups included

Free weekly and monthly backups come with every plan. For data that changes every day, keep copies of your own as well.

Free migration

Moving from another host? Tell us what you run today and we will reply with the steps to move it to your new server, free of charge.

Free SSL

Secure the sites on your server with free SSL certificates, issued and renewed from a panel such as HestiaCP or CyberPanel.

Security in your hands

Set the firewall rules, SSH settings and update schedule yourself, and add tools such as fail2ban to block repeated login attempts.

Use cases

What you can run on a Linux VPS

WordPress, WooCommerce and Laravel sites

Host busy WordPress, WooCommerce or Laravel sites with the PHP version, web server and cache you choose. A free panel such as HestiaCP or CyberPanel keeps several sites, databases and SSL certificates easy to manage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Send us a message and our team will reply by email.
What is a Linux VPS?

A Linux VPS (virtual private server) is a virtual machine with its own share of processor, memory and SSD storage. Ours run on KVM, so your server boots its own Linux kernel and you get full root access: you decide the distribution, the software and the security settings.

Which Linux distribution should I choose?

For a new server, choose a current long-term release: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and Debian 13 have standard support until May 2031 and August 2028 (Debian LTS to June 2030), and AlmaLinux 10 and Rocky Linux 10 receive security updates until May 2035. Older images such as CentOS 7, Ubuntu 18.04, Debian 10 or Debian 11 no longer get free security updates; choose them only when existing software requires them, and plan an upgrade.

Which control panels are free?

HestiaCP, CyberPanel and aaPanel are free panels you can choose in the order form, either as an option or as a ready-made Ubuntu image. cPanel, cPanel with CloudLinux and Plesk are paid options in the order form, with their price shown there. Other free panels such as CloudPanel, Virtualmin, Webmin and ISPConfig are listed on this page with the systems they support. You can also run the server without a panel.

How do I connect to my Linux server?

We email the IP address and root login details as soon as the server is ready. Connect with any SSH client, such as Terminal on macOS and Linux or Windows Terminal and PuTTY on Windows, then add your SSH key and turn off password logins.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my server later?

Yes, you can move to a bigger plan as your project grows. Disks cannot be made smaller, so moving to a plan with a smaller disk means backing up your data, ordering the smaller plan and restoring it there.

Can I run Docker on my server?

Yes. Your server is a KVM virtual machine with its own kernel and root access, so you can install Docker Engine and Docker Compose and run containers as you would on any Linux machine.

Is a dedicated IPv4 address included?

Yes. Every plan on this page includes one dedicated IPv4 address, so your server is reachable directly and you can point domains, SSL certificates and firewall allow lists at it. If your project needs more addresses, contact us before you order and we will tell you what is possible.

Can you help me move from another host?

Yes. Migration is free on every plan on this page. Tell us what you run today and where it is hosted, and we will reply with the steps to move it to your new server. Keep your old service until everything works on the new one, then switch over when you are ready.

What is the difference between a VPS and shared hosting?

Shared hosting runs your sites on a server that many customers share, managed for you through a control panel. A VPS is your own virtual machine: it has its own share of processor, memory and storage, you get root access and you decide the software, the versions and the security settings. Choose a VPS when your project needs custom software, steady performance or more control than a hosting account allows.

How do I secure a new Linux server?

Start with the basics: install all updates, add your SSH key and turn off password logins, and allow only the ports you use with a firewall such as ufw or firewalld. Tools such as fail2ban block repeated login attempts, and automatic security updates keep the system patched. Keep backups of your own as well, and test that you can restore them.

Are backups included?

Yes. Free weekly and monthly backups are included with every plan. For data that changes every day, also keep copies of your own, for example with an off-site backup tool, so you can restore exactly the version you need.

Can I get a refund if the server is not right for me?

Yes. This server line is covered by our refund policy: cancel within 30 days of payment and ask for a refund. Payments made in cryptocurrency are final, and the refund policy explains the details.

Which operating systems can I choose?

You can choose Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, CentOS Stream, CloudLinux OS, Fedora Server, openSUSE Leap, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Alpine Linux, Arch Linux, Kali Linux, Gentoo, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD. The list on this page shows every version we install, with its support status; the order form lists the images available for each plan.

Can I add a control panel?

Yes. You can run cPanel & WHM, Plesk Obsidian, DirectAdmin, CyberPanel, aaPanel, HestiaCP, CloudPanel, Virtualmin, Webmin, ISPConfig, FASTPANEL, Control Web Panel, ispmanager, Coolify, CapRover and Dokploy; each one is listed on this page with the systems it runs on. Panels in the order form show their price there.

Which locations can I choose?

You choose the location when you order: Dallas US, New York US, Los Angeles US, Frankfurt DE, Helsinki FL, Istanbul TR and Singapore SG.

Which billing cycles can I choose?

Every plan lists the billing cycles it is offered with. Switch the cycle above the plans to compare prices; longer cycles show the saving against monthly billing when there is one.

How do I pay?

Choose one of the payment methods offered at checkout. Every invoice also stays available in the client area, where you can pay it online.

Where do I manage my service after ordering?

Your service appears in the client area as soon as it is set up. From there you can manage it, pay invoices and open support tickets.

Questions before you order?

Send us a message and our team will help you choose the right service.
