Learn moreFrequently asked questions
Is Palworld out of early access?
Yes. Palworld 1.0 was released in July 2026, with optimised dedicated server processing and default world settings closer to Normal difficulty.
How many players can join a Palworld server?
Up to 32 on a dedicated server, set with ServerPlayerMaxNum or -players. A co-op game hosted by a player holds up to 4.
How much RAM does a Palworld server need?
Pocketpair recommends 16 GB, and 32 GB or more for stable operation. The server starts with 8 GB but is likely to crash when memory runs out.
Can console players join?
Yes. Dedicated and community servers support crossplay between Steam, Xbox, Microsoft Store, Mac and PlayStation 5 by default. Xbox and PS5 players can only join a community server started with -publiclobby.
Why do my settings not change anything?
You may be editing DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini. Copy it to PalWorldSettings.ini in the server’s config folder, edit the copy and restart the server.
Can I run mods on my server?
Yes, Palworld supports mods officially. Server-side mods currently run only on the Windows dedicated server, and only mods marked for servers load there. Mods can break saves, so back up first.
Which ports does a Palworld server use?
8211/UDP for the game, changed with -port. RCON, on 25575 by default, is deprecated in favour of the REST API; keep both inside your network.
Can I turn on PvP?
PvP is optional and experimental. Turn on bIsPvP, bEnablePlayerToPlayerDamage and bEnableDefenseOtherGuildPlayer together.
How do I use admin commands?
Set an AdminPassword, then type /AdminPassword with it in the chat. Admin commands include /Save, /Broadcast, /KickPlayer, /BanPlayer and /ShowPlayers.
Can I keep a world from before 1.0?
Old worlds load, but quest progress was reset with 1.0 and players can spawn outside the new map border. Back up the Saved folder before every update.
