Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Send us a message and our team will reply by email.
Do my players need to buy the game?

No. Operation: Harsh Doorstop is free to play on Steam, so anyone in your community can join.

Which ports does the server use?

The game port, 7777 UDP by default, a Steam query port, commonly 27005, and an RCON port, commonly 7778. Each server on a machine needs its own set.

Does the server run on Linux?

Yes. The OHD Dedicated Server on Steam has Windows and Linux builds, while the game itself is for Windows.

Can I run Workshop mods?

Yes. OHD has full Steam Workshop support and players can join modded servers. Creators build content with the mod kit from the Epic Games Store.

Can I set my own rules?

Yes. Servers can define rulesets, set a cooldown for switching teams and change server variables, such as whether squad leaders may build bases inside capture zones; that one is off by default.

How do I moderate the server?

Use RCON for remote commands. Since version 0.14.1 the administration server also writes player chat to its log file for moderation.

Is the game still in development?

Yes. OHD is in Early Access and made by a part-time volunteer team; the last public update is in the 0.14 series, and a larger update is being tested. Update the server whenever the game updates.

Can the server host co-op matches?

Yes. The game has multiplayer, co-op and single-player modes, so your server can also host co-op matches.
