Dreamside Interactive publishes no server hardware figures; these starting points follow common practice for Unreal Engine survival servers of this size.
Modes, rules and remote admin
Everything is set in the server’s config files and over RCON, so your world plays by your rules.
Campaign or Cataclysm
Engine.ini picks the mode with ServerDefaultMap; Campaign and Cataclysm each have their own settings file next to Game.ini.
PvE or PvP
Turn on free PvP with bFreePVP, and decide whether buildings take damage and what players drop when they die.
Day length
Set how long a day lasts with DurationOfDay in Game.ini.
RCON admin
Connect with any RCON client, add admins with Admin_AddUserProfile and kick, ban, save or restart with the other Admin_ commands.
EasyAntiCheat
Server and players must match: both with EasyAntiCheat, or the server with -noeac and players starting the game without it.
Public or private
Engine.ini decides whether the server is listed publicly; players can always add it by IP to their private server list.

Frequently asked questions
How many players can join a Frozen Flame server?
You set the limit with MaxPlayers in Game.ini; Dreamside’s sample config uses 10. Larger groups need more memory and CPU, so start with the table above.
Which ports does the server use?
The game port is 7777 by default and is set with -port. The Steam query port (-queryPort) and the RCON port (RconPort) each need a port of their own that players and tools can reach.
Does Dreamside still run official servers?
In March 2024 Dreamside announced it would close its PvP-focused official servers after the next update and said players can keep running their own servers with their own rules. A private server keeps your world in your hands.
How do I use RCON?
Start the server with RconPort and RconPassword, then connect with an RCON client such as mcrcon. Enter the password in the format admin:followed by your password. The available commands are listed in RCON.commands in the server repository.
How do I add admins?
Run Admin_AddUserProfile with the player ID and a role over RCON. Admin_KickPlayer, Admin_Ban, Admin_SaveWorld and Admin_Restart cover everyday moderation.
Can I switch between Campaign and Cataclysm?
Yes. ServerDefaultMap in Engine.ini selects the mode, and each mode keeps its own settings file. Dreamside marked Cataclysm as a beta mode in which wipes may occur.
Do players need EasyAntiCheat?
The server and the players must match. A normal server expects EasyAntiCheat; a server started with -noeac only accepts players who start the game without it, which Steam offers as a second launch option.
Where is the world saved and how do I back it up?
The world lives in FrozenFlame/Saved/SaveGames in the server folder. Run Admin_SaveWorld over RCON, then copy that folder.
Is Frozen Flame still updated?
Frozen Flame is in Early Access. The current public version dates from May 2023, and Dreamside opened an alpha branch to every player in May 2024. Keep the server and your players on the same version.
