Euro Truck Simulator 2 Convoy servers that stay online
Keep a Convoy session open for your trucking group, even when the host is offline. SCS Software’s dedicated server runs the session with your DLC and mod setup and your own rules for traffic, damage and collisions.

ETS2 plans are being prepared
Tell us about your convoy group, DLC and mods, and our team will reply with the options. Or open a ticket and we will let you know when the plans are online.
How big should an ETS2 server be?
A Convoy session holds at most 8 drivers, so one small server covers most groups; traffic and AI vehicles add the most load.

SCS publishes no server hardware figures; the session limit of 8 keeps the dedicated server small.
Packages, rules and moderators
The server needs no DLC or mod files of its own: two package files tell it what your session uses.
Server packages
export_server_packages writes server_packages.sii and .dat from your game, with the DLC and mods you have loaded.
server_config.sii
Lobby name, description, welcome message, password, player limit and every session rule in one file.
Optional mods
With mods_optioning, players can join without mods you mark as optional.
Moderators
Steam IDs in moderator_list; moderators change the time and the rain from the chat.
Fixed server ID
A Steam login token in server_logon_token keeps the same server ID after every restart.
Session browser and search ID
With a public address the session appears in the Convoy browser; players can also join with its search ID.

Frequently asked questions
How many drivers can join an ETS2 server?
Up to 8. SCS caps max_players in server_config.sii at 8 for a Convoy session.
What are server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat?
Two files that describe your DLC and mod setup. Enable the console with g_console "1" in config.cfg, load the setup in the game and run export_server_packages; copy both files to the server, which needs them to start.
Do I need to install DLC or mods on the server?
No. The server needs no DLC or mod files and cannot access the Steam Workshop; the package files carry the setup. Players need the same DLC and mods to join, unless you mark mods as optional with mods_optioning.
Which ports does the server use?
The connection port 27015 and the query port 27016 by default, over TCP and UDP. The virtual ports in the 100–200 range are used inside Steam and need no forwarding.
Do I need a login token?
No, but it helps. Without server_logon_token the server uses an anonymous account and gets a new server ID each time. A token from Steam’s game server page, created for the game’s app ID, keeps the ID fixed.
Which session rules can I set?
Player damage, traffic and the number of AI vehicles, a forced speed limiter, hiding trucks in company areas, collision ghosting in service areas and menus, name tags and the time zone setting.
How do moderators work?
List their Steam IDs in moderator_list. In chat, moderators can use /set_time with a time, /set_rain_factor between 0 and 1 and /help.
Can I run American Truck Simulator on the same kind of server?
Yes, with its own dedicated server, Steam app 2239530. It works the same way, with package files exported from American Truck Simulator.
Does the server run on Linux?
Yes. SCS supports Windows and Linux; on Linux without the Steam client the server needs steamclient.so, which its launch script sets up.
