Every website needs a great domain name!

A domain name is the address people type to reach your website or send you email, such as yourbrand.com. It points to the servers that host your site and mail, and you keep it for as long as you renew the registration.

The domain is your address on the internet. Hosting is the server space where your website files, databases and mailboxes live. To put a site online you need both: register the domain, order hosting and point the domain to it with nameservers.

Most extensions can be registered for one year at a time or for several years at once, up to a total of ten years for generic extensions. The order form shows the periods each extension offers, and you can renew before the expiry date to add more time.

For generic extensions you receive renewal reminders about a month and about a week before the expiry date, and another one shortly after it. If the domain is not renewed, its DNS is switched off, so the website and email at that name stop working. Most generic domains can still be renewed for a short grace period; after that they enter a 30-day redemption period in which restoring them costs an extra redemption fee, and then they are deleted and released for anyone to register. Country-code extensions follow their own registry rules.

For generic domains, ICANN requires the registrar to verify the registrant’s email address within 15 days of a new registration, a transfer or a change of registrant. Click the link in the verification email; a domain whose data is not verified can be suspended until it is.

Public lookups for generic domains now use RDAP, and under ICANN’s Registration Data Policy (in force since 21 August 2025) personal details such as the registrant’s name, street address and phone number can be redacted. A privacy service goes further and replaces your contact details with those of the service. Whether privacy protection is offered depends on the extension: when it is, you can add it in the order form or later in the client area. Some extensions, such as .us, do not allow privacy services.

Our Linux VPS, Linux VDS and Windows VDS plans list a free .com domain among their features. Check the plan card before you order, and ask us how the domain is added to your order if you are not sure.

DNSSEC adds digital signatures to DNS records so that resolvers can detect forged answers. It needs two parts: the DNS provider signs the zone, and a DS record with the key fingerprint is published at the registry through the registrar. DNSSEC authenticates DNS data but does not encrypt it. If you plan to use it, contact us before ordering so we can check your extension.

Names with letters outside a to z, such as ü or ş, are internationalized domain names (IDNs). In the DNS they are stored in an ASCII form that starts with xn--. Not every extension accepts them, so contact us before ordering one.

HyperDC registers domains as a reseller through accredited registrar partners. The registrar of record is listed in each domain’s public registration data, and we tell you which registrar sponsors your domain whenever you ask.

Search for the name you want, add an available extension to the cart and complete checkout. The domain then appears in the client area.

Unlock the domain at your current registrar, request its authorisation (EPP) code and start the transfer on this site. Some extensions do not use a code; the order form tells you what is needed.

The table on this page lists registration, transfer and renewal prices for every extension we offer, taken directly from our billing system.
