FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Send us a message and our team will reply by email.
What is a cloud server?

A cloud server is a virtual machine running on our infrastructure, with its own share of processor, memory and storage. It works like a physical server, but it is ready in a fraction of the time and you can move to a bigger plan when your project grows.

What is the difference between a VPS and a VDS?

Both are virtual servers with root or administrator access, the same kind of images and the same locations. A VDS adds nested virtualization, so you can run your own virtual machines, Hyper-V, WSL 2 or emulators inside it, and comes with larger vCPU and memory allocations on NVMe SSD storage. A VPS is the affordable starting point.

Which cloud server should I choose?

Start with the operating system your software needs: Linux for most web stacks, Windows for .NET and Windows applications, macOS for Xcode and Apple platforms. Then choose a VPS for small and medium projects, or a VDS when you need more power or your own virtual machines inside. If you are unsure, contact us and we will suggest a plan.

Do I get root access on a cloud server?

Yes. Linux servers come with root access, Windows servers with Administrator access and macOS servers with an administrator account, so you can install and configure anything you need.

Where are the cloud servers located?

Linux and Windows servers can run in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Istanbul or Singapore. macOS servers run in Dallas, Los Angeles, Amsterdam or Frankfurt. You choose the location in the order form.

Do cloud servers include a dedicated IP address?

Linux and Windows plans include a dedicated IPv4 address. On macOS plans, a dedicated IPv4 address is an option in the order form.

Can I move from a VPS to a VDS or a dedicated server later?

Yes. You can move to a bigger plan as your project grows. Moving to another line, such as from a VPS to a dedicated server, means setting up the new server and migrating your data, and we can help you plan the move.

Can I install a control panel?

Yes. Linux servers run cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin and free panels such as HestiaCP, CyberPanel, aaPanel and CloudPanel; each server page lists every panel with the systems it supports. On Windows you can add Plesk or the free SolidCP, or manage the server directly.

Are backups included?

Yes. Free weekly and monthly backups are included with every plan. For data that changes every day, also keep copies of your own, for example with an off-site backup tool, so you can restore exactly the version you need.

Can I get a refund on a cloud server?

Yes. Our Linux, Windows and macOS VPS and VDS lines are covered by our refund policy: cancel within 30 days of payment and ask for a refund. For macOS services any setup cost is deducted from the refund, and payments made in cryptocurrency are final.
