# Webmail on Linux hosting: read and send mail in your browser

> Read and send your HyperDC Linux hosting mail in the browser: open webmail from the client area or at your own domain, sign in with your mailbox and start.

Difficulty: Beginner

Webmail lets you read and send mail at your domain in any browser, without a mail app. It belongs to your Linux hosting service and runs at your own domain over HTTPS.

## Open webmail

1. In the **Mail** tab of your service page, select **Open Webmail**. You can also go straight to `https://webmail.example.com/`, with your own domain in place of `example.com`.
2. Sign in with the full mail address and the mailbox password.

The address works once your domain points to the server. If you have no mailbox yet, create one first; see [email on Linux hosting](/guides/linux-hosting-mail).

## Read and send mail

- **Reading:** your folders, such as Inbox, Sent and Trash, are the same ones your mail app sees over IMAP.
- **Sending:** write a message, attach files and send it; a copy goes to Sent.
- **Leaving:** on a shared computer, sign out when you finish.

**Verify:** send a message to your own address and read it in your Inbox.

## Troubleshooting

**Webmail does not accept the sign-in.** The user name must be the full address, not only the part before `@`.

**The webmail address does not open.** Your domain must point to the server first; see [point a domain to your server](/guides/point-domain-to-server).

## Frequently asked questions

https://webmail.example.com/, with your own domain in place of example.com. It works once your domain points to the server.

### Which user name do I use?

### Is webmail encrypted?

Yes. It opens over HTTPS only, with the certificate of your own domain.
