# ARM64 Windows VPS at HyperDC: order, connect and run your apps

> Your ARM64 Windows VPS: what each plan includes, the automatic setup, the Web Console and Remote Desktop, x86 apps through emulation, snapshots and fixes.

Difficulty: Beginner

An ARM64 Windows VPS is a Windows virtual server on 64-bit Arm with a 3D GPU. Use it to build and test software on Arm, or to run your Windows tools from anywhere. This guide takes you from the order to your first session.

## What you get

- Windows on 64-bit Arm with an **Administrator** account.
- The **vCPUs, memory, disk and network speed** listed with your plan.
- A **3D GPU** whose memory comes from the plan's memory, in the amount listed with the plan.
- **One IPv4 address** and **three snapshots**.

## Order your server

Compare the plans on the [ARM64 Windows VPS](/arm64-windows-vps) page and press **Order Now**. After your order is paid, Windows installs itself in about 20-25 minutes. Power and console controls appear in the client area when it finishes, and the login details come by e-mail.

## Connect

**In your browser:** open your service in the client area and start the **HyperDC Web Console**. Nothing needs to be installed on your computer.

**With Remote Desktop:** connect to your server's IPv4 address with the Windows App or Remote Desktop Connection. If it does not connect, see [RDP connection problems](/guides/rdp-connection-problems).

## Run your apps

- **Arm apps** run natively and are the fastest choice. Look for an Arm64 download of your tools first.
- **x86 apps** run through Windows emulation. They need more processor time than native ones.
- **Drivers** must be Arm versions: software that installs a driver of its own may need an Arm build.

Try the software that matters to you early, and move to a larger plan if it needs more memory.

## Use your snapshots

Three snapshots are included. Take one before a big change and go back to it if something breaks. Reinstall and rescue mode are not available on this line, so a snapshot is your way back. Keep important files somewhere else as well.

## Troubleshooting

**The order still shows Pending.** The server is being prepared. We e-mail you as soon as it is ready.

**There are no power or console buttons.** Windows is still installing. They appear when the setup finishes, in about 20-25 minutes.

**The status says Stopping.** Windows shuts down cleanly first, which can take up to 25 seconds. It is not an error.

**A tool that starts virtual machines does not run.** WSL 2, Hyper-V and similar tools need nested virtualization, which this line does not have.

## Frequently asked questions

### How long does the setup take?

Windows installs itself after your order is paid, in about 20-25 minutes. Power and console controls appear in the client area when it finishes.

### Do my x86 apps run?

Yes, through Windows emulation. Arm apps run natively. Emulated apps need more processor time, and drivers must be Arm versions.

### Can I reinstall Windows or use rescue mode?

These are not available on this line. Take a snapshot before a big change and go back to it when you need to; three are included.

### Can I run WSL 2 or Hyper-V?

No. They start their own virtual machines, and this line is a VPS without nested virtualization.

### Why does stopping take a moment?

Windows shuts down cleanly first, which can take up to 25 seconds. The client area shows Stopping meanwhile; it is not an error.
