The Front plans are being prepared

Tell us your player count and whether you run PvP or PvE, and our team will reply with the options. Or open a ticket and we will let you know when the plans are online.

How much RAM does a The Front server need?

Players, their bases and the vehicles they build decide the load; plan for the world your server will have in a few weeks.

The developers publish no server hardware figures; these starting points follow the 20 GB install and common practice for Unreal Engine survival servers.

Server rules at launch

The Front’s dedicated server reads its rules from launch parameters, so every setting is in one place.

Player limit and queue

Set MaxPlayers, and a login queue with MaxQueueSize and QueueThreshold for busy evenings.

Combat rules

ServerFightModeType sets the combat mode; IsCanSelfDamage and IsCanFriendDamage control self and friendly damage.

Password and admins

ServerPassword keeps the server private and ServerAdminAccounts names your admins.

Saves

SaveWorldInterval sets how often the world is saved; UserDir decides where the save data lives.

Anti-cheat

UseEAC switches Easy Anti-Cheat on or off for the server.

Linux and Windows

The dedicated server is free on Steam with Linux and Windows files.

Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Send us a message and our team will reply by email.
Can I host my own The Front server?

Yes. The developers publish a free dedicated server on Steam with Linux and Windows files, next to their own official servers.

How do I set the player limit?

With MaxPlayers in the launch line. For busy servers you can add a login queue with MaxQueueSize and QueueThreshold.

Which ports does the server use?

A game port, a Steam query port, a beacon port and a shutdown service port, each set with its own launch parameter: -Port, -QueryPort, -BeaconPort and -ShutDownServicePort.

Can I run PvE instead of PvP?

Yes. ServerFightModeType sets the combat mode at launch, and IsCanFriendDamage and IsCanSelfDamage decide whether players can hurt teammates or themselves.

How do I add admins?

List their accounts in ServerAdminAccounts. IsShowGmTitle decides whether admins carry a visible title in the game.

Can I make the server private?

Yes. Set ServerPassword and share it only with your players.

Can I move my single-player world to the server?

Community guides describe moving a solo or hosted save to a dedicated server by copying its save folder. Back up the save first and keep the server on the same game version.

Is The Front finished?

The Front left Early Access with version 1.0 on 30 October 2025 and still receives patches; keep the server updated so players on the latest version can join.
