### How many players can join a Your Own server?

Up to 64 players on a 3 by 3 km world. Set maxPlayers in world\_X.xml.

### Why does the server need a database?

Life is Feudal: Your Own keeps the whole world in a MariaDB database: terrain, buildings, characters and items. The server readme asks for MariaDB and sets the database connection in config\_local.cs.

### Which ports does the server use?

Servers commonly open 28000 to 28002 over TCP and UDP. The official readme does not list the ports, so check them against your server’s config.

### How do I use GM commands?

Set adminPassword in world\_X.xml, then type /gm followed by the password in game. Leaving adminPassword empty turns admin access off.

Among others: skill gain (skillsStatsMult), the skill cap, crafting time, the day cycle, the number of animals and their breeding period, the password and whether the world is private.

### How do I back up my world?

Back up the MariaDB database: that is where the world lives. Stop the server or make sure nothing is being saved while you take the dump.

### Is Life is Feudal: Your Own still updated?

The game is still sold on Steam, but its last content update dates from 2018 and the last patch, a security fix, from May 2023. The server works with the current version.

### Can I use mods?

Life is Feudal: Your Own has no Steam Workshop. You shape the world through the server settings and GM tools instead.

### Does the server run on Linux?

No. The server tool is a Windows program, and the readme asks for a Windows machine.
