FOUNDRY: Dedicated Server is a free tool on Steam for 64-bit Windows, updated with every major update; Update 4 in April 2026 reduced its memory use. ### How many players can join? There is no hard limit. The developers designed multiplayer for 2 to 4 players on one server, and larger groups are possible. ### How do players join the server? Through the in-game server browser, added in Update 1, or over LAN. ### Can I use mods? Yes. FOUNDRY supports the Steam Workshop. Mods can declare dependencies and some are client-only; the game warns players if their mods do not match the server. ### Does the server keep running when nobody is online? The server stays online, but the game pauses while nobody is connected, so nothing happens in your factory until someone joins. ### Can I stay on an older update? Yes. The server tool has legacy branches for Update 1, Update 2.2 and Update 3.0. Everyone must use the same version as the server. ### Does the server need a graphics card? No. A June 2025 hotfix fixed an error on dedicated servers running without a GPU, so the server runs on machines without one. ### Is FOUNDRY finished? No. FOUNDRY has been in Early Access since May 2024, with Update 4 Rails & Reactors in April 2026 and regular developer blogs since then.
