BeamMP server hosting for BeamNG.drive multiplayer
Drive, crash and race together in BeamNG.drive. BeamMP is the community multiplayer project for the game; its server runs your map, sends your vehicle and map mods to players and runs Lua plugins for your own game modes.
- BeamMP-Server for Windows and Linux
- Every stock map or a modded map from Resources/Client
- Vehicle and map mods sent to joining players
- Lua plugins for game modes and rules
- PlayersMaxPlayers sets the players, MaxCars the cars each player may spawn; extra cars are removed at once.
- You set MaxPlayers
- PortThe usual BeamMP port; the server needs it open for TCP and UDP. BeamMP servers use IPv4 only.
- 30814 TCP and UDP
- Auth keyRequired for a public server, recommended for a private one. One key runs one server at a time.

BeamMP plans are being prepared
Tell us your player count, map and how many mods you send to players, and our team will reply with the options. Or open a ticket and we will let you know when the plans are online.
How big should a BeamMP server be?
The BeamMP server only relays positions and damage; physics run on each player’s PC. Players, cars per player and mod downloads decide what the server needs.

BeamMP publishes no server hardware figures. These starting points follow from the small server program; mod files and upload bandwidth matter more than CPU.
Maps, mods and Lua plugins
Everything a BeamMP server can run, and what your players need to join.
Any map
Set Map to a stock level such as /levels/west_coast_usa/info.json, or to the info.json of a map mod you added.
Mods for players
Put vehicle and map mod zip files in Resources/Client. Paid or private mods can be protected with protectmod, so players must get them themselves.
Lua plugins
Server plugins live in Resources/Server, one folder each, and react to events such as a player joining.
Public or private
A public server appears in the BeamMP server list; with Private = true only players with the address and port can join.
Guests
Players can log in with a BeamMP forum account or as guests; AllowGuests decides whether guests may join.
Tags and description
Name, Description and Tags in ServerConfig.toml decide how your server looks and is found in the list.

Frequently asked questions
What is BeamMP?
BeamMP is a community multiplayer project for BeamNG.drive. Players start the game through the BeamMP Launcher, which enables the BeamMP multiplayer mod, and join servers that run BeamMP-Server. It does not work with pirated or outdated copies of the game.
Do I need an auth key?
For a public server, yes; for a private one it is recommended. Get it from the BeamMP Keymaster by logging in with Discord. One key can run one server at a time, so use a separate key for each server and keep it private.
Which port does a BeamMP server use?
The port set in ServerConfig.toml, usually 30814. It must be open for both TCP and UDP. BeamMP servers support IPv4 only.
Which maps can I host?
Any stock map, for example Gridmap v2, West Coast USA, East Coast USA, Utah, Italy, Jungle Rock Island or Johnson Valley, set as /levels/name/info.json. For a modded map, add its zip to Resources/Client and point Map to the info.json inside it.
How do players get the server’s mods?
Mods in Resources/Client are sent to players when they join. Paid or private mods can be protected with the protectmod console command; players then have to get those files themselves.
How many players can join?
You choose with MaxPlayers. MaxCars sets how many vehicles each player may spawn; extra spawns are deleted at once. Physics run on each player’s PC, so your players’ hardware also sets the comfortable limit.
Can I write my own game modes?
Yes, with server-side Lua plugins in Resources/Server, one folder per plugin. A plugin registers handlers for events, for example onPlayerAuth when a player wants to join, and can refuse guests with a message.
How do I keep the server private?
Set Private = true in ServerConfig.toml. The server stays out of the list, and only players you give the address and port to can join with Direct Connect.
How is BeamMP-Server updated?
Replace the server program with the new release and keep your ServerConfig.toml. The old Server.cfg format is no longer used and does not work with current versions.
