Run it on a server that matches the requirements its author lists: the PHP version and extensions, MySQL or MariaDB, cron jobs, queue workers and HTTPS. Web hosting or a VPS for your script?
Simple PHP scripts run well on web hosting. Queues, websockets, Node.js parts and mobile app back ends with many users need a VPS.

Starting points: each script lists its own requirements, and traffic, images and background jobs change the load. Our team can check an item’s requirements with you before you order.
A server that matches your script
Most installation problems come from a missing PHP extension, the wrong PHP version or a cron job nobody set up. On a server of your own you control all three.
The PHP your script expects
Install the PHP version and extensions the author lists, such as intl, gd, zip, bcmath or ionCube Loader, and run several versions side by side.
Cron jobs and queue workers
Run the Laravel scheduler every minute and keep queue workers alive with Supervisor or systemd, so emails and notifications go out.
Your database, tuned
MySQL or MariaDB with the version and settings the script needs, plus Redis for cache, sessions and queues.
Staging before updates
Authors ship updates as new versions. Test each update on a copy of the site before you replace the live files.
Email that arrives
Connect the app to an SMTP or transactional email service and add SPF, DKIM and DMARC to your domain, so invitations and notifications reach the inbox.
Root access, your rules
Every Linux VPS, VDS and dedicated server comes with full root access: you choose the versions, the add-ons and the security settings.
Backups included
Free weekly and monthly backups come with every VPS and VDS plan. For data that changes every day, keep copies of your own as well.
Locations on three continents
Run your server in the United States, Europe or Asia, close to the people who use it. The order form estimates the latency from where you are to each location.
Launch your script in four steps
Order the app preinstalled on your server, or install it yourself with our guide.
-
Check the requirements
Read the item page and documentation for the PHP version, extensions, database and server software, then pick web hosting or a VPS.
-
Prepare PHP and the database
Install the PHP version and extensions the script needs, create a database and user, and set the document root to the script’s public folder.
-
Add your domain and TLS
Point a subdomain such as app.example.com at the server’s IP address and serve the app over HTTPS with a free Let’s Encrypt certificate.
-
Run the installer
Upload the files, open the web installer, enter the database details and your purchase code, then add the cron job the documentation names.
Step-by-step setup guides
Install, secure and update the app with our guides, written for current Ubuntu and Debian releases.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a VPS, or is web hosting enough?
A script that needs PHP, MySQL and a cron job runs on our Linux web hosting. Choose a VPS when the documentation asks for Redis, Supervisor or other queue workers, websockets, Node.js, a PHP extension that shared hosting does not offer, or root access for its installer.
Where do I find my purchase code?
In your Envato account, open Downloads, choose the item and download its purchase code. Keep it private: it proves your purchase to the installer and to the author’s support.
Does the author’s support include installation?
Envato’s item support covers questions about the item and help with bugs; installation and customization are not part of it, although some authors offer them as a paid service. Our team helps with the server side: PHP, extensions, database, cron and TLS.
My script needs ionCube Loader. Can I install it?
Yes, on a VPS. ionCube Loader is a free PHP extension; install the build that matches your PHP version and architecture and enable it in php.ini. Encoded scripts often support only certain PHP versions, so check the item’s documentation first.
Why do emails and notifications not go out?
Usually because the cron job or the queue worker is not running, or the mail settings are missing. Add the cron line from the documentation, keep queue workers running with Supervisor or systemd, and connect an SMTP service with SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your domain.
How do I update my script safely?
Download the new version from your Envato account, read the author’s update notes and back up the files and the database. Test the update on a staging copy, then apply it to the live site and run any database migrations the notes name.
Can I install a nulled script?
No. Nulled scripts are cracked copies from unofficial sources, and they often hide backdoors and malware that put your server and your customers’ data at risk. Buy the item from its author and keep it updated.
Is port 25 open on my VPS?
Outbound port 25 is closed by default on HyperDC VPS. For services ordered for a term of 3 months or longer, we open it on request: open a support ticket. Until then, send through an SMTP relay on port 587. A relay or email service also helps your mail reach the inbox.
