Apple silicon macOS VPS for the next generation of Xcode

Xcode 27 and macOS 27 run only on Macs with Apple silicon, and from April 2027 App Store uploads need the iOS 27 SDK. Our Apple silicon macOS VPS line is prepared on request: tell us what you build and we will reply with availability and pricing.

Why Apple silicon

Apple development is moving to Apple silicon

Apple has made macOS Tahoe 26 the last release for Intel-based Macs. macOS 27 and Xcode 27 run only on Apple silicon, and from April 2027 App Store Connect expects apps built with the iOS 27 SDK that ships with Xcode 27.

An Apple silicon macOS VPS keeps your release builds on the current toolchain: arm64 code runs natively, the iOS simulators run at full speed, and your pipeline is ready for the next Xcode.

  • Native arm64 builds and simulators
  • Xcode 27 and macOS 27
  • Ready for the iOS 27 SDK requirement
  • Remote access over SSH and Screen Sharing

Mac VDS hosting is a virtual dedicated server hosting that handles the macOS operating system, also known as macOS VDS hosting. It enables users to run macOS-based applications, xCode development, software, and services in a virtualized environment by authorising them to lease or rent virtual servers that run on macOS. What an Apple silicon Mac does for your team

Native arm64

Compile and run arm64 code natively, the same architecture as current iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Current Xcode

Run Xcode 27 and macOS 27, which Apple releases only for Apple silicon.

Simulators at full speed

iOS and iPadOS simulators run arm64 builds without translation, so UI tests finish sooner.

CI ready

Use it as a self-hosted runner for GitHub Actions or GitLab, or as a Jenkins agent, around the clock.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is an Apple silicon macOS VPS?

It is a macOS virtual private server that runs on a Mac with Apple silicon. You get a remote Mac for Xcode, the iOS simulators and CI builds, with arm64 code running natively, the way it runs on your users' devices.

Why is it a VPS and not a VDS?

macOS virtual machines on Apple silicon run on Apple's Virtualization framework, which does not offer nested virtualization for macOS guests. We call a server a VDS only when nested virtualization is available, so this line is a VPS: it is built for Xcode, simulators and CI, not for running your own virtual machines inside.

Why do I need Apple silicon for Xcode 27?

Apple ships Xcode 27 only for Macs with Apple silicon, and it needs macOS Tahoe 26.6 or later. macOS 27 also runs only on Apple silicon: macOS Tahoe 26 is the last release for Intel-based Macs.

What changes for App Store uploads in April 2027?

Starting April 2027, Apple requires iOS and iPadOS apps uploaded to App Store Connect to be built with the iOS 27 SDK or later. That SDK comes with Xcode 27, so teams that publish apps need an Apple silicon Mac for their release builds.

Can I order an Apple silicon Mac right now?

Apple silicon plans are prepared on request. Send us your Xcode version, your CI system and how many builds run at the same time, and we will reply with availability and a price. For work on current Xcode releases you can order a macOS VPS or VDS today.

Can I sign in with my Apple Account on the server?

On Apple silicon, macOS 15 and later support signing in with an Apple Account inside virtual machines that were created with macOS 15 or later. Tell us if your workflow depends on it, and we will confirm the setup before you order.

How do I connect to my Mac?

We email the connection details as soon as your Mac is ready. macOS includes Screen Sharing, which any VNC client can open, and Remote Login for SSH and SFTP; both are in System Settings under General and Sharing, so you can work from Windows, Linux or another Mac.

Can I use my Mac as a CI runner?

Yes. Register it as a self-hosted runner for GitHub Actions or GitLab, or as a Jenkins agent, and automate builds, tests, code signing and uploads with tools such as fastlane. Because the Mac stays online, jobs can run at any hour.

How does it differ from your other macOS plans?

Our macOS VPS and VDS plans can be ordered now and cover macOS Catalina to macOS Tahoe. The Apple silicon line is for macOS 27 and Xcode 27, which run only on Apple silicon, with native arm64 performance for builds and simulators.
